Betta fin division?
I have a male betta in a tank of 5 gallons. I do not understand, this morning when I woke up last night its tail fin split.The had was as healthy as ever.He burns, swimming, building bubble nests and eating too.I lost a male betta less than a week ago and it was very special. I do not want anything to happen to this one.PLEASE tell me what is wrong!? Because I'm frustrated ????? Also, here in India, there is little awareness of pet fish. All medicines are not available. The shop keepers do not lead well, most of the time are wrong.Just imagine, I wanted sell 2 bettas to keep in the same tank and the boys another store sold me a broken tank. So please could say anything I could do as a home remedy? I bought last week 3.
If it happened so fast you probably just broke while swimming around, but the putrefaction of the fin is definitely something to consider as it heals. Keep an eye on the edge of the fins, if they get shorter, or have a dark or red edge was not there before that date may have a problem with fin rot. If the tail is split then it's no big drama, that should heal by itself. But while it is healing take special care of it to prevent infection (which can easily lead to the putrefaction of the tab) and to accelerate the healing process. Sure to continue its 25% water changes, maybe make them a little more often than usual. If you can not get a hold of appropriate medications, I found that the addition a little salt helps prevent infection, I can add a teaspoon of salt per 8 liters of water (this is just me, some people add more, add another less). Be sure to use non-iodized salt (aquarium salt is best, but I used the rock salt and sea salt with no adverse effects), and is not automatically added to the tank dissolve in a cup of water tank. Keeping the tank at a constant temperature, warm should also help. If there are other fish in the tank be sure to consider their needs too, bettas like warm up and can handle a little salt, but other fish species can not be too happy about it.
